Adele Nummy First Deputy Principal SENCO I have been teaching in West Auckland for over 30 years. As Deputy Principal I am passionate about providing children the best possible start to their learning at school so their positive attitude towards education continues throughout their journey. As SENCO (Special Education Needs Coordinator), I work hard to ensure our school is an inclusive, caring and kind environment for all. I am very proud of the culture of our staff who constantly reflect on their teaching practice, striving to make education fit the individual child. My husband and I live locally and have three awesome adult children - all were students at Western Heights and all have wonderful memories of their time spent here. |
Teresa Hannard Second Deputy Principal Growth Coach I joined the WHS whānau in 2018. My daughter—who is in her final year and off to intermediate next year —has grown to be a strong, resilient student and I will be a bit lost without her in 2023. I enjoy being a part of the many facets of WHS. I have coached Netball and Gymnastics. I work with Year 5 & 6 students, teaching the EPro8 (Engineering, Problem Solving & Innovation) programme. In 2022, two teams made it to the semi-finals competition. It was an amazing achievement! I am an advocate of our fantastic teaching and learning practices and our excellent teachers who teach these programmes; WTB, PR1ME, Structured Literacy, & Play-based learning to name a few. Our school has a shared language and strong embedded values; just look to the rocks out the front of school. If you look very closely, you will see some hidden gems! |
